Religious Work

Historically the Church has been the main patron of our craft. In England this role has probably been taken over by the private sector but still the Church, with its wealth of medieval and Victorian glass, remains our main inspiration.

Over the years we have undertaken commissions for repairs or new designs ranging in value from £200 to £60,000. We are confident we can complete most stained glass work that different religious disciplines require. We offer excellent service in the following areas;

1) Repair and Restoration

We can provide a fast repair service for vandalised or weather-damaged windows.

2) Simple diamond or quarry windows

Companies who do a good deal of decorated or painted windows often, in our view, charge excessively for the repair or making of plain leaded windows. This may be because their pricing is linked in some way to their more expensive work or just that they find simple, repetitive work boring and their prices are intended as a deterrent. We consider that plain or quarry windows are an important part of the basic architectural fabric of religious buildings and our prices are competitive.

3) Decorative windows to a budget

One definition of good design is maximum effect for minimum price and as financial constraints are an everyday reality it has become necessary for us to rethink traditional designs so that we can lower the cost. Where painting is not involved price is largely based on the complexity of the leading and quite significant savings can be made by such simple means as replacing a double border with a single. Our initial consultation is free and we are happy to work within financial constraints.
